The United Democratic Party (UDP) is a political party in Kenya certificate no 064. We conduct democratic, open, free, fair and transparent nominations in national and county elections through consensus, secret ballot, or through the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) or other democratic method acceptable to the members under the supervision of the National Elections Board and or its appointees, in which the will of the members of the Party and the people of Kenya generally shall be vital and expressed. The party is guided by the following principles;-

• Transparency and accountability;
• Promotion of gender equity and affirmative action for persons from marginalized groups and social sectors including women, youth, people with disabilities and marginalized communities;
• Promotion of responsible, democratic, selfless and visionary leadership, acceptable to the Party members and the people of Kenya;
• Promotion of diversity within the elected officials in terms of geographical dispersion,
  gender, disability, and age;
• Rules and procedures that allow the widest possible full and effective participation of
  the membership and that cultivate a democratic culture in the Party and in our society.
• Promotion of decision making by consensus where possible failing which by secret ballot shall be effected.
